Sending Your Inclusions With Peace of Mind

A gentle guide to safely shipping the precious pieces of your story


When you place an order with Second Life Keepsakes, you’re not just buying jewelry, you’re trusting me with a part of your heart. Whether it’s a teaspoon of ashes, an ounce of breastmilk, a petal from your wedding bouquet or a lock of hair from your baby’s first haircut… these inclusions carry stories that deserve the utmost respect and care.


I want you to feel confident, secure and supported every step of the way, especially when sending something as meaningful as your inclusions. This guide is here to give you peace of mind and walk you through exactly how to package and ship your materials safely.

 

Why Safe Shipping Matters

Your inclusions are irreplaceable. I treat them with the same care I’d want for my own family’s memories. Proper packaging protects your items and ensures they arrive safely so I can turn them into a keepsake you’ll treasure forever.

You are responsible for the shipping cost of your inclusions. Most customers spend around $5 using a bubble mailer or USPS small flat rate box.

Shipping Instructions


 

📦 What to Include on EVERY Package

Please add the following inside your package and write them on the outer ziplock bag:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your order number
  • Your phone number
  • Your email address

And a very important note:

Please never send the last of any inclusion.

I can work with small amounts, but I cannot replace anything lost in the mail or damaged by shipping carriers.

 

BREASTMILK SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS

You will send 1 ounce of breastmilk, fully THAWED before and during shipping. ( I can work with no less than 1/2 ounce)


  • DO NOT send breastmilk in a container.
  • Breastmilk must be double bagged.
    • First: place milk in a breastmilk storage bag
    • Second: place that bag into a separate ziplock bag
  • Label the outside ziplock bag with your name + order number
  • Place the bag into a bubble mailer
  • Estimated cost: around $5

 

ASHES SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS

 

You will send 1 teaspoon of ashes. 

I will return all remaining ashes with your finished keepsake.

  • Please double bag ashes in ziplock bags
  • Label the outside bag with your name + order number
  • Place into a padded envelope or bubble mailer
  • Estimated cost: around $5

OTHER INCLUSIONS & EXACT AMOUNTS

  • Breast Milk: 1 ounce, double bagged
  • Placenta: 1 capsule
  • Cremated Ashes: 1 teaspoon (remaining will be returned)
  • Umbilical Cord: ½ of the stump, crushed
  • Hair: About 20 strands, 1 inch long, folded inside paper or paper towel — NO TAPE
  • Soil: ½ teaspoon, dried
  • Flowers: 1–2 petals, dried, folded in paper or paper towel
  • Sand: ½ teaspoon
  • Fabric: 1-inch piece
  • Pregnancy Test Cap: Half of the cap

All inclusions should be placed into a protective mailer and labeled clearly with your identifying information.

Second Life Keepsakes, LLC cannot control postal carriers or delivery services.

Because of this, I am not responsible for inclusions lost in transit and cannot issue refunds related to shipping.

To protect your peace of mind and your precious memories please package everything carefully and consider purchasing tracking through USPS.
