Shipping your inclusions

Q

How do I ship my breastmilk?

Once your order is placed, you'll receive a confirmation email with detailed packaging and shipping instructions, along with the address to send your inclusions.

If you do not see the email, please check your spam/junk folders. Still missing? Email info@secondlifekeepsakes.com and I'll resend it right away.

Breastmilk Packaging Instructions

  1. Place milk in a breastmilk storage bag to prevent leaks.
  2. Place the storage bag inside a second sealed zip-top bag.
  3. Clearly label the outer bag with:
    • First and last name
    • Order number
    • Phone number
    • Email address
  4. Ship in a padded bubble mailer or USPS small flat-rate box.
  5. You are responsible for shipping costs.
Never send the very last of your milk or inclusions. Second Life Keepsakes is not responsible for items lost in the mail.

How much milk is needed?

Approximately 1 ounce. I can work with less, but please contact me first.

Can I send old, frozen, or spoiled milk?

Yes — fresh, expired, or frozen milk is fine. However:

  • Milk must be fully thawed before and during shipping.
  • If milk arrives with visible mold, it cannot be preserved. You will be notified immediately if this occurs.

Ashes & cremation

How do I send ashes?

Ash Packaging Instructions

  1. Send 1 teaspoon of ashes in a sealed zip-top bag.
  2. Place that bag inside a second sealed zip-top bag.
  3. Clearly label the outer bag with:
    • First and last name
    • Order number
    • Phone number
    • Email address
  4. Place into a padded mailer or bubble envelope (approx. $5 shipping).
Any unused ashes will be returned with your completed keepsake. Never send the very last of your inclusions.

When will I receive my finished keepsake?

Current turnaround time is 4–6 weeks from the date your inclusions arrive.

How do I know my inclusions are in my jewelry?

Integrity is the heart of my work. Each order is preserved one at a time, labeled, and safely stored until it is set into your keepsake and packaged for shipping. I treat every piece as if it were my own.

Can I make changes after the order is placed?

You have 48 hours after the order is placed to make changes to the size or design of the ring. All settings are made to order. If you want to change the setting, a $50 restocking fee will be required.

Do you accept refunds?

At Second Life Keepsakes, each piece is lovingly handcrafted and made uniquely for you, using your personal inclusions. Because of the custom nature of our jewelry, returns and refunds are not accepted once an order has been created.

However, your satisfaction means everything to me. I personally guarantee the quality of every keepsake and will happily repair or replace any item that arrives damaged, defective or not as described.

If you experience an issue with your order, please contact me with photos and details so I can make it right.

Caring for your jewelry

How do I care for my keepsake jewelry?

  • Remove jewelry before swimming, showering or exposing it to water.
  • Avoid resizing keepsake rings, as it may damage the setting.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

What type of materials do you create your jewelry from?

Our jewelry is primarily crafted from sterling silver and gold-filled metals, selected for their enduring quality and durability. The majority of our jewelry uses these materials. A few select designs are available in a plated finish and are clearly noted in each listing, best suited for occasional wear.
